Do you have some experience drawing or painting? Has learning to oil paint always been on your creative bucket list? Our classes are designed for those with an interest in the technique of oil painting and a desire to make expressive art.

Our Painting Courses

    Beginner

    For those with very little art experience. Learn proportions, the basics of color, and the properties of oil paint. Let’s get comfortable and play with paint.

    This class meets on Wednesdays

    $300 for 6 2-hour class meetings

    Intermediate

    For those with confidence in drawing and some experience with paint media. Learn color theory and how to express moods with color and brush strokes.

    Intermediate/Advanced combo class meets on Thursdays

    $300 for 6 2-hour class meetings

    Advanced

    For those who already have an artistic practice and some confidence painting. Find a group of like-minded artists, learn from peer critiques, and improve your voice as an artist.

    Intermediate/Advanced combo class meets on Thursdays

    $300 for 6 2-hour class meetings

Learn from Jaime Rome in a beautiful gallery setting with a group of no more than ten students. Get helpful one-on-one feedback and practice the vulnerable art of sharing your work with others.

  • Classes are taught at the J. Rome Gallery: 211 E. Sherman Ave. Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. We only host in-person classes.

  • We are taking submissions for our June 10th to July 15th 2026 session. Courses will take place once per week for 6 weeks from 6pm to 8pm. Beginner Painting is on Wednesdays. Intermediate/Advanced Painting is on Thursdays. One make-up class will be available for any missed class meeting. There are only 6 students per class so book now if your interested

  • Each course, regardless of level, has an enrollment fee of $300. This includes 6 2-hour sessions. Course materials are included. Course fee will be payed at the first meeting.

  • All courses at this time are designed for 16+. Youth courses may be available in the future.
